While working through the story you are introduced to side content like the School Stories and Side Cases, which you can do as much or as little that you like during the main story. Your first step in the game will be to complete the story on whatever difficulty you see fit. Unlike the first game, there are no missable trophies this time, so you can complete the game entirely at your own pace without worrying about missing anything during story events. Some significant minigames like Drone Racing and Dice & Cube make a return, along with a whole set of new minigames created for the School Stories side story of the game.

These are capsules that contain some kind of upgrade for one of the vehicles and are great for tweaking how the cars drive. Keep an eye out for that golden slipstream while driving in order to claim victory. It gives a huge speed boost and lets you and your team take turns to boost ahead while helping each other out. As a racer drives, they leave a trail behind them that boosts the speed of any of their friends who drive within it. There are a few different tricks you can do with your teammates, but none are as effective as the slipstream.
